Dear Diary - The Hunger Games or The House Goblin Challenge?
The government announced lockdown last night. I hate that term "lockdown" it sounds negative, frightening, it evokes images of some dystopian hunger games like novel where angry law enforcers patrol the street ready to attack you for taking your one walk a day and then steal your first born as payment for your crime!

Dear Diary... WTF!
The truth is, I'm frightened.

Autumn Musings
The weekends have been quiet. The temperature seems to be dropping by the day and Autumn is making her presence known with the vibrant fiery leaves on the trees.

10 Things I learnt As a First Time Buyer
As you may know, we have just bought a house for the first time. We had one agreement fall through, and had to go through the whole process of finding another. With all this in mind I've learnt a few things a long the way that I'd like to share.
I'd like to make it clear, that this is the first house I have bought, and while a lot of this has been true for me, every house purchase is different, so as much as I hope these lessons help you in your house purchase, you will inevitably find your own way with some things. You might even flat out disagree with my opinions! My hope for this post is to help you have an idea of things that you can do if you're right at the beginning of your house buying journey, and if you're well on your way to completing, reassure you that you're not alone in the crazy!

One Step Closer To Disney Princess Hair
I don't know about you, but I have spent most of my adult life striving for Disney princess hair. More specifically Rapunzel's uber long (maybe not to my ankles but still long) glossy, bouncy, envy inducing hair. So let's be honest, the only reason Rapunzel's hair was like this with nothing but a bucket of water and a hair brush was because it was magic! If all I did was wash my hair with plain old water and brush it, then let it dry naturally, it would look like I had actually been pulled through a hedge backwards!

Confessions of a First Time Buyer - Under Offer and Under Pressure
They say moving home is one of the most stressful experiences of your life, at this exact moment of time, I would whole heartedly agree with that sentiment.

When Insecurity Tries To Run Your Life.
I was never really into sports or fitness as a kid or even as a teenager. I never got involved in any sports clubs and I hated P.E. I suppose some of this came from not being very good at any of it, I'm the kind of person who is able to trip over while standing still, Im not very fast and my hand eye coordination is pretty poor.

Don't Let Christmas Have All The Fun!
We all know January can be pretty shit! It's wet and it's cold, and all you really want to do is curl up in a little fat ball in front of a fire, eating chocolate.

Boohoo Poor Me
First of all I should begin by apologising. If the title of the post didn't tip you off, this is a bit of a moan-y post

Brunch, Wine and Dirty Burger... The Perfect Day!
It's actually quite rare that I venture into Central London and since I live so close, I have started thinking I need to start taking advantage of the ease with which I can get into town and experience all that London has to offer. And by this I mean food, obviously!

7 Happy Days
In case there isn't enough 'what has made me happy' posts out there on the internet, I decided that it's far too easy to focus on the shitty stuff that is going on, and maybe each week I need to focus on one thing a day, no matter how small, that has made me smile. So here goes, my 7 happy things over 7 days.

AA: Adults Anonymous
Over the last couple of weeks I have had an eternal crick in my neck, which I think is down to having really rubbish pillows, or a terrible mattress which I keep putting off replacing because I'd really rather spend the money on something else. I was given a £50 John Lewis voucher the other day and couldn't contain my excitement that I could use it to buy some lovely new feather pillows to hopefully ease the crick in my neck... This excitement was swiftly followed by horror at my sudden and inexplicable ailment... Adulthood.

Margate Gen-Do!! i.e. My Sister's Hen Do in Margate!
At present I have set myself up on my little patio watching our resident robin hop about around my feet and sipping coffee from my enamel espresso mug from my hen do goody bag! I am in complete disbelief that in 2 days I fly to Guernsey for my sisters wedding!! It has come around so fast and I'm still struggling to believe that the hen do is over. So much so that I'm feeling a little cheated, I think perhaps we all need to have a post wedding hen-do and go back to Margate and do it all over again!

Two's Company
Ciarán has been back home in Ireland for a whole week, and as much as I have enjoyed having a double bed all to myself it sure has been lonely in the flat! Watching crap TV isn't quite the same when there's not anyone there to openly judge your choice in programmes.
So I'm sure you can understand that I have been thrilled to have him back this weekend. I went to pick him up from the airport and have been a bit of a limpet since he arrived home. However, it was a bit of a shock to the system last night when I went to roll to what should have been the cool side of the bed and found a Ciarán sized barrier in my way. Still I'll happily give up having a cool side of the bed as long as it means Sunday morning cuddles and coffee brought to me in bed!
(He's also much better at looking after the plants than me!)
